How does this make my wedding carbon neutral?

The average carbon footprint of a wedding in the U.S. is 63 metric tonnes of CO2 - the equivalent of 4 years of the average person's annual carbon footprint. This amount includes all the cumulative fossil fuels and emissions from elements the events food, drinks, venue, lodging, air travel, ground transportation, clothes, and energy. This 63 tonnes is the amount that Aether will offset for each qualifying purchase, making your wedding day truly carbon neutral.

To source these carbon offsets, Aether is working with Pachama. Pachama's mission is to restore nature through forest restoration, ecosystem preservation, and offering a carbon marketplace with real impact. We're proud to have them as a brand partner on this initiative - not only do they provide some of the highest quality carbon offsets available on the market, their focus allows us to show an even bigger love for the planet.

Because Aether already removes pollution from the atmosphere to create our diamonds, the offsets for the wedding program will be committed to rainforest preservation in order to have a more diverse global impact.

The wedding offsets will be in addition to the positive impact that Aether already provides to customers through jewelry purchase alone. Customers' carbon footprints are already offset by 1.25 years for every carat of diamond we sell. That means that in combination with the wedding program, our customers will not only offset their carbon footprint for their weddings, but also their first years together as partners.
